Significant new versions of major software componants (KDE, Gnome?) are
newsworthy. For example since the last time I checked it seems that KDE has
been upgraded to 4.4.1 (I don't remember what it was last time I checked but
it wasn't 4.4). As another pont, the packages page says it's still KDE 4.2.1,
even though mac.kde.org says fink has 4.4 and if you search the fink package
list it says 4.4.1. So the "news" (version status) on mac.kde.org has newer
info about fink package status than the fink site does on it's own primary
pages :-)

But at least a little bit of info every month or two helps keep the project
looking lively. It gives a bad impression when there's "no news" for a year.
