What do you get from
ls -l@ /Library/Fonts/Brush\ Script
I get
-rw-rw-r--@ 1 root admin 0 Mar 21 2005 /Library/Fonts/Brush Script

com.apple.ResourceFork 47639
If there is no resource fork, this may mean that you copied this file
using a non-resource-fork-aware program.
BTW, I am not sure if the applesystemfonts package is still useful. I am
almost sure that recent versions of Apple's X11 know about system fonts
without this package, but I haven't verified this recently.
