Hello,
Pasting below the result for XQuartz 2.6.0 "final" on OS X Leopard 10.5.8/PPC
/usr/X11/bin/X/ -version -iokit 2>&1
Xquartz: Unable to locate waiting server: org.x.X11
Xquartz: X11.app = /Applications/Utilities/X11.app/Contents/MacOS/X11
Xquartz: Starting X server:
/Applications/Utilities/X11.app/Contents/MacOS/X11 --listenonly
X11.app: main(): argc=2
argv[0] = /Applications/Utilities/X11.app/Contents/MacOS/X11.bin
argv[1] = --listenonly
Waiting for startup parameters via Mach IPC.
X11.app: No launchd socket handed off, unsetting DISPLAY
X11.app: do_start_x11_server(): argc=3
argv[0] = /usr/X11/bin/X/
argv[1] = -version
argv[2] = -iokit
Xquartz starting:
X.Org X Server 1.9.3
Build Date: 20110113
Xquartz: start_x11_server: (ipc/mig) server died
If you need, I can also cross check with the "RC1" one.
Of course, completely removing fink wasn't supposed to fix anything, I
was just very suspicious about my own /sw integrity.
