I didn't get the original message, so I have no idea what the problem is. But I 
did not touch the code for the "open" nor the "fink" completions at all.

In the 5 years since the old version, a lot of the internals of the completion 
code changed (and improved). My guess is that somebody needs to update the 
completions for "open" and "fink" to the latest standards. Hopefully it won't 
be too hard. But without knowing what the exact problem is, I can't really say 
more :)
