Woops, I added this to -beginners by accident.

Oops again, I was going to say "set properly to bin".

Interestingly, this seems only to happen on 10.6/i386 (i.e. 32-bit).
On a 10.5 machine:
$ /sw/bin/cdrecord -scanbus
Cdrecord-ProDVD-ProBD-Clone 2.01.01a77 (powerpc-apple-macosx9.7.0)
Copyright (C) 1995-2010 J?rg Schilling
Using libscg version 'schily-0.9'.
scsibus1:
1,0,0 100) 'PIONEER ' 'DVD-RW DVR-103 ' '1.90' Removable CD-ROM
1,1,0 101) *
1,2,0 102) *
1,3,0 103) *
1,4,0 104) *
1,5,0 105) *
1,6,0 106) *
1,7,0 107) *
Or my 10.6/x86_64 machine (same Mac as 10.6/i386 above):
$ /sw64/bin/cdrecord -scanbus
Cdrecord-ProDVD-ProBD-Clone 2.01.01a77 (i386-apple-macosx10.4.0)
Copyright (C) 1995-2010 J?rg Schilling
Using libscg version 'schily-0.9'.
scsibus1:
1,0,0 100) 'MATSHITA' 'DVD-R UJ-867 ' 'HB01' Removable CD-ROM
1,1,0 101) *
1,2,0 102) *
1,3,0 103) *
1,4,0 104) *
1,5,0 105) *
1,6,0 106) *
1,7,0 107) *
It would be instructive to find out whether Graham and François are
using 32-bit or 64-bit Fink installs. (e.g. via "fink -V")
