Hi everyone,

In my course, I have students with OS X (10.5-10.7) use Fink to install various
packages, including Imagemagick. One of its (long list of) dependencies is
python27. While those with 10.6 and 10.7 have not had issues with compiling
python27, I have two (2) 10.5/i386 machines were the compiles have failed,
specifically when it comes to the readline module for python27 (see below).

This appears similar to the _tkinter module problem discussed here:

http://osdir.com/ml/fink-users-osx-unix/2011-06/msg00054.html

Any suggestions to get around this problem?

Cheers and thanks in advance,

Scott

Python build finished, but the necessary bits to build these modules were not
found:

To find the necessary bits, look in setup.py in detect_modules() for the
module's name.
(Fink package build should have 5 missing)

Before reporting any errors, please run "fink selfupdate" and try again.
If you continue to have issues, please check to see if the FAQ on Fink's
website solves the problem. If not, ask on one of these mailing lists:

        The Fink Users List <fink-users@lists.sourceforge.net>
        The Fink Beginners List <fink-beginn...@lists.sourceforge.net>,

with a carbon copy to the maintainer:

        Daniel Johnson <dan...@daniel-johnson.org>

Note that this is preferable to emailing just the maintainer directly,
since most fink package maintainers do not have access to all possible
hardware and software configurations.

Please try to include the complete error message in your report. This
generally consists of a compiler line starting with e.g. "gcc" or "g++"
followed by the actual error output from the compiler.

Also include the following system information:
Package manager version: 0.31.4
Distribution version: selfupdate-rsync Fri Nov 4 08:29:01 2011, 10.5, i386
Trees: local/main stable/main stable/crypto unstable/main unstable/crypto
Xcode: 3.1.3
