Dominique, This is because gcj is broken in gcc 4.5 and later on 10.4/10.5 due to the new epilogue notes in eh frames. This issue isn't fixed yet upstream (although it might be addressed in 4.7). The libtool2 package should probably have a BuildConflicts on gcc44, gcc45, gcc46 to detangle in from FSF gcc. Either that or it's configure needs to be hacked to avoid finding gcj.
