I am a long time fink user, using it behind a corporate http firewall which
has forced me to use the CVS update method instead of rsync. My corporate
firewalls permit CVS through directly. I cannot use CVS through the HTTP
proxy since the HTTP proxy blocks connections that don't target port 80. My
fink setup was quite old so I completely started afresh on my new Lion based
system. In the latest fink release, fink apparently tries to be smart and
insists that CVS use the http proxy setting I have with fink. This fails.
How do I fix this? I tried temporarily disabling my fink http proxy setting
but as soon as the CVS update finishes, it immediately times out & fails
when it it tries to fetch something over the web.

Thanks in advance.
