I started a clean install this morning. I remember making a symbolic link to
perl10.0 -> perl10.0.0 ( from memory ) in hopes of salvaging my installation,
but realizing I needed to do that, I figured my install was screwed.

I read on the fink web site that not all packages were supported for Lion yet.
I did try the upgrade instructions I found on the fink web site, but they
didn't work post Lion upgrade. I was hoping it was a simple config tweak to
recognize the perl5101-core I did have, while it couldn't find the
perl5100-core. That's what I meant by something being screwed up … either that
or there was a package I needed not yet supported. I didn't intend to attack
fink itself although my wording suggested that … sorry.

My fink was old and probably 32 bit, but I'm not sure. That's probably why it
didn't work in the first place. As for the packages, there are only a few and
I know what they are. Mostly stuff to help with engineering and math. It
takes a long to install everything, so I thought I would make sure there wasn't
a simple fix before re-installing. Not in the case though. Thanks for the
help anyway.

Anyway, I should probably withdraw my request for help.

Thanks!!
