Doing an update on PPC Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5.8) I get the same failure. With: imagemagick-6.5.8.10-2, Fink 0.32.3, Xcode 3.1.4. In config.log I can see the switch -fopenmp – which was introduced by GCC 4.2. So the compiler for recent versions of ImageMagick has to be at least GCC 4.2 and not GCC 4.0.
