This was added to Fink about 3.5 years ago, at this version.  I'm
honestly not sure that it ever worked--I don't recall seeing any reports
one way or the other before yours.

Since the upstream site is now offline, there doesn't seem to be the
possibility of trying a different version, unfortunately.  I don't know
if it's possible to make Fink packages of xcompmgr or compiz, but that
might be what is needed.
