Your error has nothing (yet) to do with octave.  And what you're
reporting is the _symptom_ of an earlier error:

i.e. that something along the way failed and the libfltk.*.dylib files
didn't get generated.  Check through your the output and look for an
earlier error.

Mountain Lion changed how X11 is set up, and some packages may need to
be cleaned up to use it.
