I thought I sent a workaround to the lists but I don't see it in the
archives.  Here it is:

As a workaround (I won't call it a 'fix' because there may be additional
consequences which haven't been explored), try the following:

1)  Edit /sw/fink/10.4/stable/main/fink/gnome/gtk+2.info

2)  Remove '-DX_LOCALE' from the SetCPPFLAGS: line and save the changes.
