I'm seeing what I believe is the same thing, as I reported earlier. I found that trying to use "gnome-session" at startup doesn't work. On 10.5 there were messages about linking to CoreFoundation and forking, which is a fatal error. There aren't any messages on 10.6, but my guess is that the problem is the same, since the build is pretty similar. gnome-session itself doesn't link to CoreFoundation, so I'm not sure exactly where the complaint arises from. I _was_ able to start X11 with the following user file, however: . /sw/bin/init.sh metacity & exec gnome-panel -- Alexander Hansen, Ph.D. Fink User Liaison My package updates: http://finkakh.wordpress.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Free Next-Gen Firewall Hardware Offer Buy your Sophos next-gen firewall before the end March 2013 and get the hardware for free!
