Indeed! X11 has, presumingly, set only a rudimentary PATH setting. It is different from what other "native" Mac OS X applications inherit. It's useful to set in ~/.xinitrc or ~/.xinitrc.d/50-clients.sh, which launches the "desktop" and its applications (the window manager comes in a "later" script, ~/.xinitrc.d/96-fluxbox.sh or whatever), so that the interactive applications can inherit a useful PATH setting. -- Greetings Pete One person with a belief is a social power equal to ninety-nine who have only interests. – John Stuart Mill ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 positioned as A LEADER in The Forrester Wave(TM): Endpoint Security, Q1 2013 and "remains a good choice" in the endpoint security space.
