To clarify, final work on a Mavericks capable Fink release is happening. The earlier than expected release of Xcode 5 sort of affected our timeframe for it, but it should be ready (we hope) by 10.9 release time. As for upgrading an existing Fink installation, that will not be possible. However, we will try to come up with a method to capture a list of your installed packages and rebuild them after upgrading to Mavericks.
