Now the situation is more clear to me. My powerPC gives $ /usr/libexec/java_home -t CommandLine -V Matching Java Virtual Machines (1): 1.5.0_30-b03, ppc: "J2SE 5.0" /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5.0/Home /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5.0/Home This is with the latest Java update for 10.5/powerpc (update 10, I believe).
