'fink remove cloog-shlibs' will complain and exit if anything you have installed depends on it. If you want Fink to remove ppl9-shlibs and anything that depends on it, first install the package 'apt', and then run 'fink remove -r ppl9-shlibs'. The fink and apt tools will then check all the downstream dependees (and their dependees) of ppl9-shlibs and will print them out for confirmation before actually removing them if you say yes.
