I thought we’d set things up to prevent Fink from being installed anywhere within /usr, but perhaps not. The scan tool is set up to throw an error when it detects /usr in a header which normally should be provided by Fink. If you really want Fink in /usr/sw, your quickest workaround would be to modify /usr/sw/bin/fink-package-precedence as a super-user and change all of the “die” messages to “warn”. That way you’ll still be able to generate bug reports for us if you have problems. -- Alexander Hansen, Ph.D. Fink User Liaison ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dive into the World of Parallel Programming The Go Parallel Website, sponsored by Intel and developed in partnership with Slashdot Media, is your hub for all things parallel software development, from weekly thought leadership blogs to news, videos, case studies, tutorials and more.
