We haven't specifically programmed axisymmetric coordinate systems, everything at this stage is cartesian. It is possible to use a small-angled wedge shaped mesh to simulate axisymmetric problems (will have some associated error) within a cartesian system. I haven't done this using FiPy, but it should be possible. As far as flow is concerned, we have a cavity Stokes flow example. This can be found in 'examples/flow/stokesCavity.py' from the base FiPy directory. You will have to checkout a new copy of FiPy. svn checkout http://matdl-osi.org/svn/fipy/trunk
We have no axisymmetric examples as yet. We also had no flow examples in version 1.0. The manual on the web page is for version 1.0.
You'll have to make your own decision based on what is available. Daniel Wheeler |
