FiPy users,
Can tensors be assigned to Cell Variables in FiPy?
No.
I'd like to assigning diffusion coefficients to cells with
different Values for D_xx and D_yy.
Frequently, one can do this by making the diffusion coefficient a
function of the face normals.
I believe this was answered about a year ago on the mailing list
and wondered if this functionality might have been added since then.
We need to be able to make the diffusion coefficient a general
tensor. I know how to do the Finite Volume discretization
for this. However, I don't see it is a high priority right now.
I think Jon mentioned that we should really make cell and face
variables general containers for scalars,
vectors and tensors. I think this will probably be the first step.
