In theory depth should make no difference.
The main variable of the equation is Volumetric enthalpy and other than a
diffusive and convective term I add
a source term ( as "+ q") where q is a list that contains the value of the
source term (joule heating per unit volume) in each cell.
The value of q comes either from analitical solution or from solving a laplace
eq. on the same mesh.
I tried solving the same problem with a 1D mesh and a 2D mesh with specified
depth(dy=0.02 ny=1), the results should be the same
but only the 2D ones are correct (compared with experimental data and other
simulation).
I think my problem is in how the source term works and how I input it in the
equation as in the 1D problem the temperature remain quite low.
2D is also ok but I would prefer using 1D as I need to implement and validate
various equation and algorithms; and is also a little faster.
