A precision: in the FiPy version of the live CD, the test of "constrain"
return an error message:

>>> v = Variable((0,1,2,3))
>>> v.constrain(2,numerix.array((True,False,False,False)))
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<pyshell#2>", line 1, in <module>
 v.constrain(2,numerix.array((True,False,False,False)))
AttributeError: 'Variable' object has no attribute 'constrain'
