Thanks, that helps.  I am new to Macs, and no Mac people have been
able to tell me this.  But, it doesn't work in every app.  The only
one I can think of at the moment is the AIM beta for OS X.  None of
these work.  They do nothing at all, in fact.

Yeah, that was a bit confusing when I noticed that. :)
