I've looked at trying to port Linux apps to OS X and I think the same 
sites would help you try to port Fire to Linux.  Not having tried 
porting apps myself, that is without step by step instuctions, I 
couldn't tell you what you would be getting into.  Search Google with 
the following:
"os x" porting
and you should find something.  One of the sites that I found useful was 
when I ported OpenSSH so I could securely login to my machine.  It was 
at stepwise or something like that.
