I built TOT earlier today and really like a lot of the changes that
have been put in lately. It's nice not to get kicked from away anymore,
but I can't tell if idle works (I have to move my mouse to wake up my
screen and then I'm not idle, so maybe it actually works now). Other
than that my main issues are with the new away message editing (and away
messages in general) and my selves' statuses.
As for editing away messages, I must admit that the new window to
allow you to do it is a little faster, but it is horrendous for actually
trying to enter an away message that is more than a line long. The
original method was very much preferable to this new method. Also, why
does my away message never get sent when people check it? It only sends
"Away"... this didn't used to be the case, I don't believe. It used to
send whatever message I had set unless I went idle, then it would send
"Idle".
It also appears that I can no longer send messages to myself nor do
I receive status updates (away, idle, etc.) for my various selves in my
buddy list. This is bothersome as I can only tell from the dock icon
(which is very cool now, I must add) whether i am away or not. And I
can't tell whether the correct away message is being sent without
sending myself messages.
Oh, one last thing (honestly!), is there any way a flag could be
set for when a server has been intentionally disconnected? Whenever I
disconnect a service, it automatically tries to connect again, but never
seems to actually connect right or it doesn't update the fact that it
has reconnected in the app.
Other than that, great work everyone. Sorry for the criticism, I'm
trying to make it constructive criticism though.
