Yep, I'm counting upon you guys to set me straight. =)
But, on the other hand, we also don't want to make a practice of having to
publicly discuss every harebrained idea that comes along. So, I'm going to
see what people need and can handle, sleep a few nights and flesh out the
idea and consider things, then lay it out hopefully in a nice, logical
package.
But in general, I've never liked the way "buddy lists" have been done due to
a big waste of screen space and other HCI stuff (which I have some
background in, too, though more of a hobby), so I've been looking at
better-designed alternatives, and I think I've probably found a good one.
The responses so far have been enlightening, and make me curse Apple for
putting the dock on the bottom by default, since so many people apparently
left it there. =) But keep them coming, and I'll probably take a look at
them all early next week and drop something in your boxes then.
