You've probably figured this out by now, but you *do* have to wait awhile.
It's somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour.
I myself had this problem for awhile. Unchecking auto reconnect worked for
me. Also, if you're in a position to run a TOT build, a change has recently
been made that should go a long way toward addressing this: Fire now waits 5
seconds before attempting to reconnect.
