How's this for a suggestion:
If you think you can do better, then go do it.
If you think you can improve the app that you have, then go do it. The
source is available.
If you think that the developers are writing this for you, then pay them to
do work for you, or go somewhere else. I suspect that Eric, Colter and
others are writing this for themselves. The fact that other people like the
app, and use it, is just gravy.
There are many other free IM clients out there for OS X; maybe one of them
would better suit your needs.
Disclosure: I haven't done any development on Fire. Therefore, I'm thankful
for what the guys have done, and keep my maw shut.
