TOT means "Top of the Tree," refering to the latest build from the CVS
repository on SourceForge.
Do you want it? Depends. If you possibly want to help develop Fire, or
are willing to risk stability of Fire to help bug test it, then yes, you
probably do. If you are an end-user (someone who would prefer never to
see the source code and only run the binaries), then you probably don't,
since the TOT build is in a state of constant flux.
I hope that helps. If you do want to try TOT in binary form, someone has
a nightly binary build at http://homepage.mac.com/dluke/FileSharing2.html
. And before you go using this, the following quote Eric gave about TOT
when the MSN library was being overhauled describes why (sometimes) TOT is
probably NOT what you want: "Users are most likely in for a world of hurt.
" (though right now it probably doesn't live up to this quote right now,
but it can)
