Well okay, that was more specific.  Thank you.  It still doesn't work 
however.  My session always goes as follows:

[localhost:~] sam% cvs 
-d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/fire login
(Logging in to [EMAIL PROTECTED])
CVS password:
[localhost:~] sam% cvs 
-d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/fire checkout fire
cvs [checkout aborted]: reading CVS/Tag: Not a directory

This has happened every time I've tried this for the past few months.  
Does anyone know why it's doing this?  Yes, I know this was a problem 
for someone before.  And it DID resolve itself within about an hour.  
HOWEVER, it's been a few months and I still get the same thing.  Thanks 
in advance.
