OK - that's fair - its free software and you put your free time in on
it...but :)

I not do think its a great idea to not support firewalls/natd. I don't like
the idea that I have to choose between securing my network or keeping it
open just for chat. And considering that most of the world does use some
sort of firewall/natd...well, it just doesn't seem right.

Considering it DID work under the Linksys box - and just now doesn't using
Fire (or actually both apps that use the same MSN lib) - I'm still just
looking for ideas I can use to make it work. I'm not so much looking at the
Fire folks to help here (though since you have the source AND know it a
whole lot better than I, you can give better educated guesses), I'm more
interested in finding others who have a similar setup as I do and who can
help me fix the problem on the FreeBSD side. I also do not want to hack
using redirected ports since I want multiple users to be able to use Fire on
the network.

It makes no difference, but this is my second week using a Mac again in over
3 years. I REALLY don't want to have to move my chatting back to my Windows
box, so my plea is - if you have info that might help - please let me know!
Thanks.
