Having used Fire for quite some time, I switched to Proteus as most of
my chat friends are on Yahoo and the developer(s) of Proteus sorted out
the Yahoo issues quite quickly; well at least it works with Yahoo, and
Fire doesn't at the moment.

I agree the UI is far from intuitive initially, but when you've worked
it out, I have to admit I like Proteus. That doesn't say I do not like
Fire anymore! It's just the fact that there is a possibility that people
do appreciate multiple programs that offer similar functionality though
in a totally different way. There's not always such a thing as black vs.
white, or in this case more specifically Fire vs. Proteus..... Whichever
chat client will win on my desktop, time will tell...

cheers,
Rob
