Dates are important here (all these numbers are from the early 1990`s). Criminals, especially young ones, follow guns in the same manner that they follow hat styles. Something is "hot" for a while then it is not. Like the fad of holding one�s pistol sideways.
Momentary fads among criminals aren�t a sound basis for legislation. The experienced cops at the Minneapolis PD Robbery/ Homicide squad tell me that kids want the latest toy while old pros will use anything that�s a gun.
