The Iraqis will discover the impact of having constitutional provisions that are unenforceable. Even Saddam didn't dare try to disarm the Iraqi people. Hopefully, the mistake will be corrected in their final constitution.

Few nations more clearly show the importance of establishing and maintaining a strong militia system wherein responsibility for defense and law enforcement is retained by the mass of the people, and by each individual citizen, and not relinquished to a class of paid professionals who inevitably become the ruling class of tyrants.

But it does indicate the influence of the ruling class in the United States and what they would like in the U.S. Constitution.
