75% of gun death are deliberate acts of personal choice.  Adequate
substitutes are available for these determined people (compare suicide
rate in gunless Japan).  Gun laws are irrelevant to suicides (especially
of adults - the largest group).  

What if the political effort and governmental resources devoted to "gun
violence" were devoted to preventing untreated depression (the #1 cause
of suicide)???
