Hoping to get one remark in before the list police shut this down: Lawrence was a due process case because the Court is not ready to call discrimination against homosexuals what it is, sex discrimination by enforcement of gender roles.

As to the case that set this off: I denounced Poletown (a similar state law opinion) back in 1999, and it is my understanding that the Michigan Supremes have overruled Poletown, so I am not particularly thrilled with this decision. But I don't understand how it's a liberal-conservative split or how anybody can find a liberal on the current Supreme Court.
