(1) I need information on how CCW-states handle the
question of licensed carry in churches.
(2) Also, other than in Minnesota, have there
been challenges to the procedure?
As usual, I need it ASAP.
Texas has gone both ways. First they statutorily
prohibited CCW in churches. There was an uproar that this infringed on the
churches' freedom of religion to make their own rules. Now Texas treats
churches like other private property and allows each church to choose by posting
a state-mandated sign (size and wording) or not posting.
Some states statutorily prohibit CCW in churches.
Some states allow the church to choose whether to prohibit CCW
or not.
Some such states require posting signs (saying
what?).
Other states don't specify how notice is to be
given.
Some states say nothing about the issue.
Some states ... (please specify what they do).
