Gun Control Act, Section 922(g)(8), prohibits possession, transfer, yada yada yada, of a firearm by a person *subject to* a qualifying protection order.
On another list the question has arisen whether this is a permanent disability or if there are circumstances under which the prohibition no longer applies. The obvious question seems to be what is "subject to?" Does the "typical" protection order extend indefinitely into the future, or are the issued for a definite term. If the latter, does expiration of the term remove the disability? Any informative comments from those who really understand this will be appreciated. _______________________________________________ To post, send message to [email protected] To subscribe, unsubscribe, change options, or get password, see http://lists.ucla.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/firearmsregprof Please note that messages sent to this large list cannot be viewed as private.
