P.S. If the words "commonly used" mean anything, semi-autos certainly
qualify.  It's been a long time since I've seen any uniformed law
enforcement officer carrying anything but a semi-auto handgun (which
uses a magazine which "could" be extended.)  For handguns, sales figures
show semi-autos greatly outselling revolvers, break-action single shots,
etc.  This turn-down objectively demonstrates that the DC laws don't
include these commonly used handguns.
