Can anyone please point me to some cases that actually
discuss (whether or not finding liability) (1) whether an employer,
college, or other landowner would be liable if it doesn't ban weapons
(whether firearms, pepper spray, or what have you) and a crime occurs,
or (2) whether an employer, college, or other landowner would be liable
if it does ban weapons and a crime occurs that might have been prevented
by someone who had weapons? I've heard lots of speculation on both of
these points, but right now I'm looking for actual caselaw that
discusses this.
Failing that, I'd love to read a law review article that
discusses the subject in some detail, rather than just asserting one or
the other conclusion. Many thanks,
Eugene
