Forgive a topic not precisely on con law and gun policy, but I cannot think
of a better group to poll.

Has any research been done on the rates of crime (especially violent crime)
by the job type of the person committing the crime? I doubt there is any
substantial cause/effect relationship, and this may explain the dearth of
data.

What launched this inquiry was a question from one of my readers asking for
help to identify the rate of crimes committed by police officers (which I'm
failing to find as well). Are these two areas not tracked at all? Are
there any studies on the latter?
