It starts out with the conclusion that he is a "dishonest pundit." That's in the first item. The second item pretends ("In reality ...") that the "civilized world" is constituted only of "high-income" nations. After a few more, I gave up. What is the take of the learned members of this site? > I have read a number of analyses and discussions by Lott. They all appeared to be systematic analyses using reasonable data and taking what appeared to be available co-variate data into account. I have not repeated the entire work by getting the data on my own and doing all the analyses on that data - which would be a very large amount of work (and which, incidently, is not a requirement for a peer reviewer in a normal journal review.) I have not followed his public statements and interviews. One of the criticisms is quoted from "Computer Scientist Tim Lambert" - if this is the same (Australian, IIRC) guy I remember from talk.politics.guns (a usenet news.group), he was a rabid anti-gun zelot who seemed to have a lot of time to spare to present negative views about firearms ownership. --henry schaffer > > Thanks, > > Paul > > -- > *Paul R Laska* > *PO Box 1423* > *Palm City, FL 34990* > * > * > *772-781-9014 landline* > *561-722-4435 cell* > > _______________________________________________ > To post, send message to [email protected] > To subscribe, unsubscribe, change options, or get password, see > http://lists.ucla.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/firearmsregprof > > Please note that messages sent to this large list cannot be viewed as > private.
