Badger Guns as #1? That is, like, so last year.

Seriously, the story about Badger is at least two or possibly three years old. The owners opened the shop in the 1980's, when there were still several gun stores in the city. As the other shops closed one by one, Badger was eventually the closest shop to the gang- and drug-infested areas of the city. So, it's not surprising that the criminal element tries to buy guns there.

What the Brady bunch, as well as the media at the time this story originally broke, never have acknowledged is that Badger worked hand-in-hand with both the police and the BATF to help them catch the strawbuyers and convicted felons. On some days they made more calls to the BATF than they did gun sales. They installed cameras to record illegal activity in the parking lot, kept binoculars at every window so they could write down license plate numbers, and in general did everything they could to help the locals and the feds.

The folks at Badger did far more to help catch strawbuyers and felons than the entire staff of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, yet the paper refused to mention their role in the arrests.
