Not only that but the 1994 law specifically left the mini-14 and m1 carbine off the 
list as not being assault weapons.
I noted of the 41 cases presented, 23 or less where killed with a "assault weapon" as 
defined in 1994 ban. And many of the AR-15s may be post ban and not an assault weapon 
either. Why don't they talk about the fact that a relatively larger portion are killed 
with their own firearm?

I wonder how they are defining "assault weapon".  On their
web page they identify the Ruger Mini-14 as a "rule cheater"
assault rifle even though it has been on the market for decades and it is
built like nearly every other semi-auto hunting or plinking rifle that
Americans have been buying for a century now.<br><br>
