I think that the following syntax would be useful in some cases:
SET TRANSACTION READ WRITE READ COMMITTED WAIT 10
(10 = timeout in seconds)
Currently timeout can be specified only via isc_tpb_lock_timeout.
Also, it will be convenient to have such parameter in firebird.conf like it was
in Yaffil:
LOCK_TIMEOUT -1 // default = infinite waiting
