No, I was right. I had two many test users and they were tripping over themselves. Once I cleaned that up and made sure there was only one instance of fbserver and that the alias was pointing to the correct file the above command works fine. BTW, did you try trusted authentication? (new in 2.1) That doesn't use the security database at all.
