Treeve, I can't confirm problems from both your letters. I've built today fbs2 / # gcc --version gcc (GCC) 4.6.1 fbs2 / # as --version GNU assembler (GNU Binutils) 2.21.1 fbs2 / # ls -l /lib/libc.so.6 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jul 28 15:45 /lib/libc.so.6 -> libc-2.14.so in clean chroot environment using clean sources from ftp.gnu.org. Firebird builds just fine without any patches. Where did you get that compilers from?
