The only known for me currently problem is that shadows are not supported in nbackup. What about performance - it might be good to set FW mode for main file and mirror separately. Not sure how much FW affects SSD in your case, but on posix systems there is a workaround: mount ssd async, regular disk for shadow - sync and set FW off for database.
