Mike Nordell and I had tried to deal with those in relation to increasing the valid page sizes back in FB v1.0 but the code base was far too ugly. I tried to tackle it, again, more recently but ran into the problem that "page size" is a notion which is used for both on disk pages but also other non-disk page/in memory structures.
